Months later, Miharu has not worked and she is bored, lonely and has contemplated going back to Japan to work then she wonders "What would the harm be if, I did agree with what those steam engines say and it is me, who is at fault. They are older than me, and knows how Great Anglia rules and regulations are all about."
So she gets towed to the works and gets converted.
Now after trials and modifications, the new (and improved) converted Miharu is here and working.
She is now a hydro-electric locomotive, water heated up to cause steam to turn the turbines and gets her engines working. 
She may sound differently and be one of a kind, and unique (which she likes) but more importantly, she is now accepted, working and seen as useful and not useless.
